The Knight and the Sea

ifollowmykingThe sea is and open, vast, endless expanse. It just goes on and on.
I hate the sea.
I lived by the sea as a child. Anyone who lives by the sea will tell you how beautiful it is. I hated it, even then. That vast expanse of sky, mirrored in that blue ocean is like an abyss. Sometimes it’s like, if you turn the wrong way, you can fall into it and float away, be lost forever.
I detest the sea.
The sea took me away from my home. The sea is the barrier between me and my people. I lie to myself that way. It’s easier to pile more hate onto something I already abhor. The truth is, there is a sea between myself and my homeland, but it’s not the physical one that lies between us. That one can be transversed. No. This sea, this abyss, that keeps me on one side and them on the other is an ocean of prejudice, of hate, and of misunderstanding. This ocean can never be crossed.
I loathe the sea.
